Born in 1984 in San Diego, USA. Lives and works in Los Angeles. Sam Falls is an American artist whose practice unfolds outdoors, in direct collaboration with nature. Rejecting the traditional studio, he creates works that fuse photography, sculpture, painting and performance. He has exhibited internationally, including recent solo shows at Museum Frieder Burda and MOCA Cleveland.
About his work:
Sam Falls creates art in and with nature, allowing sunlight, rain, and time to imprint his works. Using organic materials such as plants and natural pigments, he invites the landscape to participate in the creative process. His deeply physical approach bridges the ephemeral and the permanent, resulting in works that are both meditative and materially grounded in the natural world.
